About the Cawfee Flavor Lab

The Flavor Lab is our behind-the-scenes coffee playground — a cozy test kitchen where new ideas are brewed, tasted, and shaped before they ever reach the public menu.

Here, we experiment with creative blends, seasonal flavors, and small-batch ideas that don’t follow the rules. Some become future favorites. Others are refined, reworked, or quietly retired.

Flavor Lab blends are not always available and are only offered when we’re actively testing new ideas. When available, Flavor Lab members get access to free test blends, early experimental releases, and a private Flavor Lab Shop where they can choose which samples they’d like to try. Coffee is free — if shipping is required, tasters cover a flat $8 shipping fee.

All samples are roasted to order, and flavored blends require an additional resting period after flavor oils are added. Because of this process, samples may take 7–10 days to ship. This extra time helps ensure balanced flavors and more accurate feedback.

What It Takes to Be a Cawfee Flavor Lab Taster

To keep the Flavor Lab running smoothly, all tasters must:

  • Be willing to provide honest feedback for every sample they choose to order

  • Have access to a coffee grinder, as all Flavor Lab samples are sent as whole beans only

  • Submit feedback within the requested timeframe (typically within 7 days)

  • Understand that tasters are not required to try every available flavor

  • Provide feedback only for samples they choose to order

  • Pay a flat $8 shipping fee when shipping is required

  • Actively participate to maintain access to the Flavor Lab Shop

  • Understand that spots are limited and maintained through participation

  • Social media posts are not required, but are always appreciated if you enjoy a blend and want to help spread the word

All Flavor Lab samples are roasted to order. For flavored blends, flavor oils are added after roasting and allowed time to properly absorb and rest. Because of this process, samples may ship 7-10 days after roasting to ensure the best possible tasting experience.
